* Which material was best for keeping Mr Grinling's sandwiches dry. We took part in an experiment in science where we testing different materials to see which was most waterproof.
* A lighthouse in Scotland. P4 conducted their own independent research to find out about different lighthouses in Scotland. They had to find the name, location, height and year it was built. Some people even found out some interesting facts about their lighthouse too.
* The maths game I played. (P2&3 taught P1 how to play some of the maths games and puzzles.) They worked really hard, there was lots of teamwork and co-operation.
* What I used to paint the background to my seagull picture. We tried to create different textures and colours to look like sand, sea and sky.

In Science, we have been learning about liquids and solids and have been thinking about what is waterproof and what is not.
In Maths, we have been learning our 10 times table and also about money. The smallest size of coin is the 5p and the biggest is the 50p. The value coin is worth 1p and the highest £2. With Mrs Smart, we are learning about bar graphs.
We have been making a flower shop in our role play area. We did a vote and it was between a flower shop and a bank to go with our learning this term.
On Monday 22nd we welcomed back Miss Kennedy who will work with us for the next 5 weeks. We made Earth Art with her using cardboard, paint and printing techniques.
Wednesday 6th March – Tuesday 12th March, reported by Bellamy
We have been learning about the Stone Age and have been writing stories about it. In my story, someone fell and travelled back in time and met a girl called Om. She met their family and they hunted for a deer together. The boy and Om went into a cave and a Sabre Tooth Tiger appeared – the boy fell in shock and travelled back to normal time. He told his family but they didn’t believe him!
We have also been learning about dinosaur fossils. Did you know that the first dinosaur fossil found was a … poop! We have a lady coming to talk to us about this on Friday.
In Maths, we have been practising our times tables. My group have been doing the 5 x table. I like doing it in chimney sums as it makes it easier.

We enjoyed ‘Break the Rules Day’ last Thursday – we had a bouncy castle in the hall! My favourite rule to pay to break was getting extra break – I played ‘tag’ outside in the break before lunch and had more bouncy castle time for the afternoon one.
Monday 19th – Tuesday 27th February, reported by Ember
We made Woolly Mammoths out of milk cartons because our topic is The Stone Age.
We have been making our own tools out of sticks including small paintbrushes. We then used these to paint patterns.
